The Leading Sports PT Expert In Highlands Ranch

Who Is
Gina Fick?

Gina Fick is the #1 Sports PT Expert in Highlands Ranch and has helped thousands of people overcome their sports injuries without the use of painkillers, injections, or surgery. But who is Gina, and what is it that makes her so different from all of the physical therapists you’ve seen before who have echoed the same advice of resting, masking the problem with pills, and that you need to slow down because you’re not as young as you once were?

Who Is Gina Fick?

Gina Fick is the number one sports physical therapist expert in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and the South Denver Metro area.

Although Gina was born and raised in Texas, she currently resides in Castle Rock, Colorado with her family. Gina is married to a wonderful husband, and together they have four children, aged 17, 15, 14, and 11. They love to spend time together as a family, with a particular affinity for visiting the mountains, which are one of the reasons why Gina chose to live in Colorado – the state is surrounded by amazing beauty and trails, making it perfect for activities such as hiking, biking, and skiing. Gina believes that this makes it a perfect place to stay active and healthy in the area and within the community – a community that she feels blessed to be a part of and to be able to serve.

Gina Fick's elite level experience treating Sports Injuries

A former college basketball player, Gina played at Waylon Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, home of the Flying Queens, the winningest women’s basketball team in the nation across all divisions – a record that has stood for many years. Because of this background in sports, Gina is able to understand athletes and active adults of all ages and knows the importance of staying active and healthy for life.

Her journey to becoming a PT began in 1993, her freshman year in college playing basketball, where she suffered an ACL tear. For Gina, this was shocking and devastating, to have to sit out of her favorite activity and she felt that a part of her identity had been taken away, as well as additional frustration after working extremely hard to get her college scholarship.

The option proposed to her was surgery, which is a scary prospect for anyone, let alone someone in their freshman year of college living far from home. The fear of surgery coupled with a fear of whether she would be able to resume playing basketball, and whether she would remain on scholarship.

Gina Understands Your Fustrations

Gina can relate to many of you who may be facing a season ending injury, such as an ACL tear or something even more serious, perhaps. You should understand that she is in your corner because she has been there. She understands exactly where you’re at and knows how to take you from that point to a place where you can return to sport and achieve your goals.

Many of you may be frustrated by the fact that you’re having a difficult time finding a physical therapist who understands you as an athlete – this is common. Many physical therapists don’t understand what it takes to return to sport, or the demands of your particular activity.

As an expert in sports physical therapy, Gina Fick understands how to help you to return to sport and bridge the gap from rehab to performance. She has built a practice, Fick PT & Performance, which is of a higher level and can get you from that basic rehab post-op or post-injury into higher level functional activities and return to the sport that you love.

What Made Gina Fick become a Physical Therapist?

Gina was initially driven to the field of physical therapy thanks to her own experiences with the rehabilitation process. Here, Gina met a best friend for life in her physical therapist, who helped her rehab from her injury, and got her to the point where she could play again and be very successful as a collegiate basketball player and student athlete.

With Gina’s physical therapist and best friend coming into her life, helping her get back on her feet, and be able to play basketball again, her life had been changed, and Gina wanted to be able to give that same experience to others.

She pursued physical therapy school after leaving Whelan Baptist University, attending Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from 1996 to 1999, graduating in 1999 with a master’s degree in physical therapy.

Then, Gina started a doctorate of science program in physical therapy at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2002, whilst working full time in a sports medicine practice, striving to be the very best physical therapist she could be.

Gina completed biomechanics research aimed at looking at cutting and landing, and how to prevent ACL injuries in female athletes moving forward. She actively participates in a lot of research trying to reduce ACL injury risk and injury risk in general, a passion of hers since her own torn ACL injury sustained in 1993.

Now, because of her lifelong passion for learning and growth, Gina has earned her reputation as Highlands Ranch’s sports PT expert – and she isn’t done yet! Being the expert means a continual process of Gina being the very best sports physical therapist that she can be, and she will never settle for anything less.
